This is me in the late 70’s………..I was probably high……..

Where I Came From

My name is Janice James Eubank and I was born in Birmingham, AL. Even though I am a descendant of one of The Pilgrims and one of my Great Grandfathers was a Fife for George Washington, I come from a long line of Southerners. No plantations, no tobacco farms, just good people with a good sense of humor -- and some with more notoriety than others. There are many talented people in my family and frankly, I never expected to really be able to create art, but after giving it a try with  great instructors, and the faith of a great husband, I've decided to stick with it for a while. I love bright colors, dogs, cooking and fashion so they are all sorta combined into my artwork.

What I'm About

In the Spring of March 2013, on impulse, I purchased a Groupon via Amazon's Living Social. I had never painted a day in my life and even though my Mother had painted, I had wanted to put it off for a few years  before I attempted. I was fortunate to have found Karen Libecap, who was teaching art and encouraging individual style in her art class. My first Art Show was in May of that year and in April of 2014, I found myself selected for my first art show booth at Art on R Mountain. Since then I have  studied with Dori DeCamillis and Beth Bradley. I have shown my work at Pepper Place, Rojo, Wade Smith Gallery, Kessler Building, Art Crawl and Art Walk and other individual shows.  I enjoy painting with the bright colors of life in all mediums and most recently enjoy mixing the bright colors of glass,  resin and metals as they react to light.
